STATS PACK: Run defense making a difference

The Detroit Lions defense has allowed just 29 combined points over the last two weeks in victories over Green Bay and Oakland.

The biggest difference these past two weeks for Detroit’s defense has been their ability to stop the run.

Consider this: Over the first eight games of the season that saw Detroit flounder to a 1-7 record, opponents were averaging 133.8 yards per game on the ground and averaging 4.35 yards per carry.
