This Super Bowl feels like no other in recent memory. There is no clear Patriots-like villain amongst the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams haven’t seen a ton of recent success. The Chiefs haven’t been to a Super Bowl in 50 years, while the 49ers are in the playoffs for the first time in six seasons. Okay, maybe there’s a little difference there, but San Francisco hasn’t won a title in 25 years, so there still is some serious drought on that side.
Each team has extremely likable characters, whether it’s perennial MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes or underdog story George Kittle.
