The mystery of Robert Ayers' abbreviated stint with the Detroit Lions has finally been solved. Kind of.
Ayers, who signed a one-year deal with the Lions in 2018 and was released 24 hours later, addressed his Lions layover in an interview with the Knoxville News Sentinel published Friday.
"Let's just say me and the head coach didn't agree," Ayers said of Lions coach Matt Patricia.
