Report: Detroit Lions tight end Josh Hill is retiring

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that the Detroit Lions were bringing in tight end Darren Fells for a visit. It seemed like that was potentially a response to placing Hunter Bryant on the reserve/non-football injury list last week. Unfortunately, it turns out the Lions may need Fells much more than anticipated.

According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lions tight end Josh Hill has decided to retire from the NFL. Hill played for eight seasons with the New Orleans Saints before signing a one-year deal with the Lions back in March.
