The Detroit Lions made a roster move following the team's mandatory minicamp on Thursday, inking tight end Orson Charles. The transaction was first reported by the Detroit Free Press.
Charles was one of four players who tried out for the Lions this week, participating in full minicamp practices.
A fourth-round draft pick out of Georgia in 2012, the 6-foot-3, 254-pound Charles spent two years with the Cincinnati Bengals. From there, he was a member of the New Orleans Saints practice squad.
Last season, Charles was suspended one game for violating the league's personal conduct policy after a "road rage" incident.
