Phil Simms lands softly in CBS studio after being dumped for Tony Romo

Tony Romo is in, Phil Simms is out. But just when it comes to the broadcast booth.

Simms will shift to CBS' studio show after being replaced by Romo as the network's lead NFL analyst, paired with Jim Nantz.

Simms' future was unclear after the Romo announced April 4 he was stepping away from playing and into the booth. Simms, the former New York Giants quarterback turned criticized broadcaster, hadn't spoken publicly since the news brooke.
