The quiet period for the Lions – relatively quiet for a league that seems to operate 365 days a year – has come with the end of the offseason workouts. It feels a lot like the day before a major auto race.

Everything is polished and tested and lined up for when the carnage begins. For the cars, it’s the race. For the Lions, it’s training camp, when the pads go on and the hitting starts.
