The Detroit Lions reported for training camp on Thursday, then hit the practice field for the first time during a cool, occasionally wet Friday morning in Allen Park. Here are some notes and observations from the 150-minute workout.
-- You have to be careful about how much you read into any training camp performance, especially on the first day -- sample size, guys, sample size -- but man does Marvin Jones already look like he's in fine form. He caught at least four touchdown catches, most of which came against DeShawn Shead, including a stunner to the back-shoulder during red-zone drills.
