When Matt Prater signed with Detroit back in October, he was well-aware of the nickname long snapper Don Muhlbach had acquired over the years.
Muhlbach is known as the “Nolan Ryan of Long snappers" around the league.
“Muhl snaps so fast that I see the ball longer than I ever have in my career,” Prater said after Saturday's practice in Allen Park. “It makes it easier for me with a fast get-off time.”
With Muhlbach snapping as fast as he does, and holder Sam Martin being perfect with his holds through camp, Prater said there’s no reason he should ever miss a kick this season.
