In a few days fans will get their first look at Haloti Ngata in Detroit's defense.
Head coach Jim Caldwell and defensive coordinator Teryl Austin know what Ngata meant to the Baltimore defense when they were coaches with the Ravens. They've seen a little bit of what Ngata can do in Detroit over the last couple weeks.
Safety James Ihedigbo played with Ngata in Baltimore and knows exactly what the big fella brings to the table.
“The guy is a beast, he’s a problem (for the offense),” Ihedigbo said. “He can wreck a game.”
The Lions are hoping that starts Sunday in San Diego, against a Chargers offense that ranked 18th overall and 30th running the football a year ago.
