NFL ref explains penalty on Detroit Lions' Tracy Walker, suggests barrel roll on QB

The Detroit Lions had another strange penalty call against them added to their long history of strange penalty calls against them in Sunday’s 37-35 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

People far and wide questioned referee Adrian Hill’s roughing-the-passer penalty on Lions safety Tracy Walker early in the fourth quarter that appeared to stop a key Vikings drive.

On fourth-and-goal from the Detroit 1, Walker sacked quarterback Kirk Cousins. But Hill quickly called the penalty on Walker, which led to a fresh set of downs that resulted in a touchdown that extended the Vikings’ 2-point lead and put them ahead, 37-29, with 10:32 left.
