NFL honors Oxford shooting victim Tate Myre with Way To Play High School Award

The NFL honored Oxford shooting victim Tate Myre on Saturday as its Way To Play High School Award winner of the week.

The award recognizes prep football players who demonstrate exceptional in-game playing techniques to make impactful plays.

Myre, 16, was a standout running back and linebacker who had received college recruiting interest after helping Oxford reach the Michigan state playoffs.

He was one of four students killed Nov. 30 in a shooting at Oxford High, along with Madisyn Baldwin, Hana St. Juliana and Justin Shilling.

"The senseless tragedy at Oxford claimed so many with such great potential,” NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent said in a statement released by the league.
