New Detroit Lions D-coordinator Cory Undlin wants 'guys that play with their hair on fire'

MOBILE, Ala. — They didn't live together, but they might as well have been roommates.

Cory Undlin and Matt Patricia were young coaches sharing an office at Gillette Stadium, both making the leap from college football to the NFL, working 20-hour days on Bill Belichick's staff, crashing in the office most nights.

Undlin doesn't recall specifically talking with Patricia about working together at their own shop one day, but in his first interview since joining the Detroit Lions as defensive coordinator earlier this month, he told reporters Tuesday, "I'm sure that came up."

"I would say this," Undlin said during a break at the Senior Bowl, where the Lions are coaching the North team.
