MOBILE, Ala. — Every year at the NFL combine, long-time special teams coordinator Scott O’Brien and his former assistants gather for dinner at an Irish pub in downtown Indianapolis.

The guest list includes some of the best special teams coaches in the NFL: Cincinnati’s Darrin Simmons, former Lions assistant Danny Crossman and ex-New England Patriots coordinator Joe Judge, the new head coach of the New York Giants.

For most of the last decade, Brayden Coombs was a part of those meals.
