INDIANAPOLIS — The best thing to happen to Montez Sweat's football career might have been getting kicked out of Michigan State.
One of the best pass rushers in the 2019 NFL draft, Sweat was suspended indefinitely two games into the 2015 season for what the school said at the time was a violation of team rules.
He was dismissed the following spring, spent one season at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, and said the whole episode was a humbling experience that ultimately helped him develop into the player he is today.
