Big return sets up touchdown
Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah came up just short of a touchdown -- half a yard short -- with a 104-yard kick return to open the second half. Three plays later, quarterback Matthew Stafford found tight end Brandon Pettigrew for the 3-yard score. Matt Prater missed the PAT, and with 13:33 to go in the third quarter, the Lions lead 9-3.
The 104-yard return for Abdullah is tied for the team's third-longest return, and ties Percy Harvin's 104-yarder in 2011 as the longest non-scoring play in NFL history.
