Lions trade special teams ace Johnson Bademosi to Patriots, per report

DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions had some difficult decisions to make at cornerback ahead of Saturday's 4 p.m. roster trim deadline, so they traded one to simplify things.

Detroit has traded Johnson Bademosi to the New England Patriots, the Detroit Free Press reported Saturday. The return value is not yet known.

Bademosi, 27, signed with the Lions last season to become a key contributor on their coverage teams. He found some defensive reps through injuries last season and struggled in coverage. After Detroit brought in some cornerback help in the form of second-round pick Teez Tabor and free-agent acquisition D.
