Lions' Stafford middle of pack in ESPN QB rankings

Allen Park — Matthew Stafford is arguably coming off the best stretch of his career, a remarkable second half of the season where he completed 70 percent of his throws while tossing 19 touchdowns to just two interceptions. But there is still plenty of skepticism surrounding the Detroit Lions quarterback, as illustrated by ESPN's annual ranking of his position (pay site).

In this year's edition, Stafford actually fell a spot from his 2015 ranking. He checks in at No. 14 on the list, behind Tony Romo, Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan.

Unlike many rankings, which are the opinion of a single analyst, this list is constructed through polling 42 "league insiders.
