DETROIT -- As Detroit Lions safety Miles Killebrew got dressed at his locker Sunday afternoon, the last thing he pulled on was perhaps the most meaningful.
In talking with the media after Sunday’s 27-24 loss to Carolina, Killebrew wore a shirt that said simply: “Vegas Strong.”
It’s been an emotional week for the Las Vegas native, who woke up Oct. 2 to text messages and phone calls about the mass shooting at a music festival that killed at least 58 people and injured at least 500. He had about a half-dozen friends and acquaintances from Foothill High School who were hospitalized.
