ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions' decision to keep rookie Brandon Powell as a sixth receiver is best explained as insurance for a possible Golden Tate exit.
And you know who's on board with it?
Golden Tate.
"I don't know what's going on upstairs, what the plans are, but I'll tell you what -- I'm going to teach him every lick of knowledge that I can teach him," Tate said after practice Wednesday.
Tate has been fabulously productive in Detroit, catching at least 90 passes each of the last four years, something only Antonio Brown has matched league wide.
