Lions rookie Jashon Cornell on season-ending injury: ‘It will only make me work harder’

The Detroit Lions suffered their first major injury of the year on Tuesday, when seventh-round rookie defensive lineman Jashon Cornell collapsed to the ground in a non-contact situation. A couple days later, the Lions confirmed the bad news: he was being placed on injured reserve, ending his rookie season just a couple practices in.

On Saturday afternoon, Cornell posted to his Instagram account his reaction to the news and confirms a report from the Detroit Free Press that it is indeed an Achilles injury.

“Never regret anything in life. Everything happens for a reason & every season serves it’s [sic] purpose.
