Lions RB Kerryon Johnson has knee surgery, goes on injured reserve

Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson was placed on injured reserve after having a procedure done on his right knee Tuesday morning with the hope he can return this season.

Johnson injured his knee during the first half Sunday in a 42-30 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He then appeared on the sidelines with a brace on the knee and he tried to loosen up on the bike and stretching it out on his own.

He never returned to the game and after halftime he did not come out of the locker room with the team.
