“...You always wanted to believe...”
I’m taking a slightly different approach for this week’s (or last week’s, I guess) Song of the Game. The Detroit Lions’ pummeling of the Green Bay Packers was everything we would have wanted it to be: fun, exciting, and an absolute offensive spanking given to the Packers. But it was hard for me to even—for lack of a better term—give a shit after such a brutal loss to the Cincinnati Bengals that would ultimately end Detroit’s playoff dreams.
I could have went several directions with this piece, but in the end, I chose this beautiful, yet sad song from the band DeVotchKa, because: 1) I’m actually a little bit sad to see Jim Caldwell go and 2) I feel completely deflated with this team right now.
