Lions officially sign QB Luis Perez, release QB David Fales

The Detroit Lions made the signing of former AAF quarterback Luis Perez official on Tuesday morning, and it was veteran quarterback David Fales who was the odd man out, getting released to make room for the young quarterback.

Fales was added midway through the offseason after the Lions decided to part ways with former Spartan quarterback Connor Cook. Fales struggled mightily during training camp and the preseason. However, he actually looked quite impressive in Detroit’s second exhibition game against the Houston Texans, completing 12-of-19 passes for 226 yards and a score.
