OL Wesley Johnson’s one-year deal with the Lions is $790,000 in base salary with a $90,000 signing bonus. No other bonuses. Cap hit of $720,000. TE Levine Toilolo’s one-year deal has a $1 million base salary with a $400,000 signing bonus and $100,000 workout bonus. His cap hit is $1.5 million.
With a signing bonus that big, Toilolo is all but a shoo-in to make the roster this year. Johnson, on the other hand, is both extremely cheap and extremely replaceable. He is far from guaranteed a spot on the 2018 roster.
