The Detroit Lions desperately needed to exit their Week 7 primetime clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a win. If they didn't, it'd have been their first time experiencing back to back losses since 2022, and it would've landed them firmly in third place within the NFC North at 4-3.
Luckily, we don't have to wonder about that. The Lions are 5-2 headed into the bye week, holding the most wins in the NFC North and looking good before a much-needed week of rest. After that, they're facing off with the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field, the Washington Commanders on the road, and the Philadelphia Eagles also away from home.
