Lions make necessary roster moves for Commanders game after quiet trade deadline

The Detroit Lions got off to a busy Wednesday morning, with Aaron Wilson announcing the signing of three players to the Lions practice squad - including a familiar face.

Wilson announced that the team had signed Jack Conley, Chris Hubbard, and Netane Muti amid injuries and uncertainty.

Detroit made no moves at the trade deadline for offensive line depth, which would've been difficult to swing in the first place considering the lack of guards available on the trade market.

Additionally, their cap situation for 2026 and beyond means they can only make marginal moves at the moment, especially as they look to work out extensions with Brian Branch, Jahmyr Gibbs, Sam LaPorta, and Jack Campbell.
