The rookie tight end is battling a calf injury that flared up on Wednesday, and he is officially listed as questionable for the team’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Sunday, we got a positive update on his status from ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

“Lions’ TE Sam LaPorta, listed as questionable for Sunday due to a calf injury, is expected to work out pre-game to finalize whether he can play, but it is trending in the right direction, per source,” Schefter tweeted on Sunday morning.
