Lions defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson carted off after leg injury

It's still early in training camp, but the Detroit Lions already could be dealing with some injury issues.

Defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson sustained a non-contact injury to his right leg during 11-on-11 drills on Monday morning. He was carted off the field after trainers tended to him for several minutes on the field.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson has ignited the Lions' secondary with energy during offseason practices.

Gardner-Johnson was a free-agent acquisition who signed a one-year deal this offseason. He was on track to be the starting nickel cornerback.
