Lions Claim 2013 3rd-Round Pick OLB Corey Lemonier Off Waivers

The Lions claimed outside linebacker/defensive end Corey Lemonier off of waivers from the Cleveland Browns this afternoon.

To make room for the 25-year-old Lemonier, the Lions released 22-year-old corner Adairius Barnes. Barnes started one game this season, but Detroit felt the undrafted free agent was expendable. Instead, they will take a chance at the once highly-regarded Lemonier, hoping to tap into that potential that the San Francisco 49ers were banking on when they drafted him out of Auburn in 2013.

Check out his draft profile from NFL.com here, and you can see what the scouts said when he was coming out of college.
