Lions' Ameer Abdullah credits yoga for helping him find peace in tumultuous year

ALLEN PARK -- Ameer Abdullah has a lot of reasons to be concerned.

He's had three seasons to turn around the Lions' running game. Result: They've rushed for fewer yards than everybody else in the league .

Abdullah got another chance to be the No. 1 back last year. Result: He was so bad that he was eventually benched, finished with just 552 yards overall and was rated the worst running back in the NFL according to ProFootballFocus.

With that, he appeared to be out of chances. GM Bob Quinn went out and signed LeGarrette Blount in free agency, then spent two picks to acquire Kerryon Johnson in the second round of the draft.
