LION 'D' SHINES in 'L': BHS grad makes three tackles

For more than three quarters, the Detroit Lions flirted with a major upset Sunday of the Dallas Cowboys.

Heading into the fourth period, Dallas clung to a one-possession lead, 10-6, against a stalwart Lions defense, which included Bartlesville High graduate A.J. Parker in the secondary.

But, Dallas got on an offensive roll in the fourth quarter to score two touchdowns and win, 24-6.

Parker contributed three solo tackles. The most impressive might have been when he made a low tackle on Cowboy quarterback Dax Prescott on a sweep to the right inside the red zone.

Prescott appeared to have an open field ahead of him, but Parker flew in and made the diving stop at the Detroit nine-yard line, holding Prescott to a two-yard gain.
