Kerryon Johnson leaves Detroit Lions game with knee injury

The Detroit Lions lost leading rusher Kerryon Johnson to a left knee injury late in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Johnson was hurt on a 3-yard run with about 4 minutes to play in the third quarter, when he reversed field on a handoff to the right and was brought down by two Panthers defenders.

He immediately limped to the Lions bench, where he was examined by team doctors and appeared to be in serious pain.
