Kelly Stafford, the wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, said Sunday on Instagram she is out of the hospital after undergoing a 12-hour surgery to remove a brain tumor earlier this week.

She underwent surgery Wednesday, and wrote that her procedure took twice as long as expected because of "an abnormal vein" but that she is home and "learning my new norm."

"This Easter is the beginning of a new life for me," Stafford wrote in a post that included a picture of her leaving the hospital with her husband, mother and brother, Buffalo Bills assistant coach Chad Hall, and video of her walking with assistance and talking quietly.
