The Detroit Lions absolutely needed a win on Monday Night Football. With an NFC North as close as it is, and the 5-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers hungry for a statement road win, a loss heading into the bye week would have been devastating.
The defense and running back Jahmyr Gibbs came up big in the Lions' 24-9 win. Even despite the win, there's still the lingering anxiety that the margin of victory could've been bigger. That the offense is struggling. That may sound absurd, given that the Lions have scored the third-most points in the NFL and are second in point differential.
