Hospitalized Matt Millen hoping for heart transplant 'fairly soon'

It's been two months since Matt Millen stepped away from his broadcast work due to health reasons, but the wait continues.

The former Detroit Lions general manager suffers from amyloidosis, a disease that attacks the heart.

A hospitalized Millen is awaiting a transplant in New Jersey.

NBC Sports' Peter King spent some time with Millen last week, who has been in the hospital since leaving the booth. He'll be there until he receivers a new heart, which Millen told King he needs "fairly soon."

In April, the 60-year-old Millen said his heart was working at 30 percent capacity.
