Friday open thread: Which Lions’ one-year signing will have the biggest impact?

The reduced salary cap made it difficult for all teams during the offseason, though while the Detroit Lions had limited flexibility, the stakes were a little lower in Detroit during free agency. Swapping Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff was always going to be the biggest change, and that essentially ruled out any major signings like extending Kenny Golladay.

Still, the Lions did make a handful of additions during the offseason, many on cost-effective short-term deals. This is exactly the type of free agency period a rebuilding team like Detroit is expected to have, and oftentimes a few gems emerge from the crop of players looking to prove their value before hitting the market once again.
