The Detroit Lions finally made their decision at general manager, hiring Brad Holmes from the Los Angeles Rams. The first-time general manager comes to a Lions organization with issues up and down the roster, as the team comes off its third-straight losing season and searches for its first playoff win in nearly 30 years.
The hope — and need — is for Holmes to be a significant upgrade over his predecessor Bob Quinn in nearly every facet. For the Lions to be seen as a legitimate competitor, there is not a quick switch that he can flip to make it everything rosy all of a sudden.
