Friday open thread: Do you feel better, worse, or the same about the Lions?

One down, three to go. The Lions finally got the 2019 season (somewhat) officially started on Thursday during the preseason opener against the Patriots. As expected, most of the starters got little to no action, but the whole point of the month of August is to figure out who will win the last spots on the roster.

The biggest takeaway of the game might be injuries, which unfortunately came early and often. With three games still remaining, this was a scary reminder of what can happen in the preseason. Of the Game 1 injuries, none were bigger than Jermaine Kearse, who left in the first quarter with a broken leg.
