Five things to watch: Offseason workouts

Football is back. Well, kind of.

The Detroit Lions officially began Phase I of the voluntary offseason program in Allen Park on Monday.

During the first two weeks of the program activities are limited to strength and conditioning and physical rehabilitation.

The next three weeks – or Phase II – of the program include on-field workouts and individual player instruction and drills as well as team practice conducted on a “separates” basis. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.

Phase III is the final four weeks of the program and teams may conduct a total of 10 days of organized team practice activity, or “OTAs”.
