ESPN's Mel Kiper says Lions pick Kerryon Johnson can 'be a workhorse'

Do the Detroit Lions finally have that feature back behind Matthew Stafford?

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. certainly thinks it's possible, after they traded up to grab Auburn's Kerryon Johnson in the second round of the NFL draft Friday night.

Detroit grabbed Johnson with the 43rd overall pick, thanks to a deal with the New England Patriots. Kiper raved about Johnson.

"He lulls defenders with a hesitation step, then he hits that hole with that impressive burst," Kiper said "Effective between the tackles. Lateral cutting ability is excellent.

"He can be a workhorse. He can be a guy you can give it to 25 times a game.
