Detroit Lions working out 2 quarterbacks: Josh Johnson, Landry Jones

According to a report for NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the Detroit Lions will work out two quarterbacks on Saturday. Former Buccaneers passer Josh Johnson and former Steelers draft pick Landry Jones will visit Allen Park in the hopes of landing on the Lions’ 90-man roster and potentially beyond.

The Lions are looking for quarterback help after backup quarterback Tom Savage suffered an injury in the team’s preseason opener against the New England Patriots on Thursday night. It appeared Savage’s head hit the turf after being sacked in the first quarter, and he immediately went into the locker room and did not return.
