Detroit Lions waive six to reach 80-man roster limit, keep all undrafted roookies

The Detroit Lions waived six players Sunday to reach the 80-man training camp roster limit, but they kept all seven of the undrafted rookies they signed as free agents this spring.

Among the cuts; Wide receiver Travis Fulgham, a sixth-round pick out of Old Dominion last year, and offensive lineman Josh Garnett, a first-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2016.

The Lions kept 90 players on their initial roster, saying they wanted to split their team into four working groups to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 early in camp and to properly evaluate all of their newcomers.
