After going through only a walkthrough on Thursday—a day in which head coach Matt Patricia called “a big mental day”—the Detroit Lions were back on the practice field Friday afternoon in preparation for the season opener against the Arizona Cardinals. And it looks like they had more participation out of some key players, too.
Most noteworthy was starting cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who had been very limited in two previous practices this week, appeared to be participating in individual drills for the first time since suffering a knee injury in the third week of the preseason.
