C.J. Anderson saw his playing time drastically reduced in Week 2, and now the Detroit Lions are moving on from the veteran running back.

The Lions cut Anderson on Tuesday and claimed Paul Perkins off waivers from the New York Giants.

Anderson signed as a free agent in April to be the Lions' short-yardage and third-down back, and to spell starter Kerryon Johnson.
