The Detroit Lions have retained their longest tenured player this offseason. Long snapper Don Muhlbach is set to return for his 17th NFL season in 2020 after re-signing with the team Saturday. The team confirmed the move on their official Twitter account.
Muhlbach started his career with the Baltimore Ravens, though he never featured for them before being released in 2004. He was scooped up by Detroit that year after the Ravens released him during training camp. Muhlbach has been the team’s long snapper ever since. He has earned two Pro-Bowl appearances in his first 16 NFL seasons, and played 244 games.
