Detroit Lions re-sign Kerry Hyder, Don Muhlbach; Richard Sherman visit

The NFL has been a whirlwind of trades and free agency signings recently. But the Detroit Lions have stayed relatively quiet in the eye of the storm. That was, until Saturday.

The Lions have now announced the re-signing of exclusive free rights free agent defensive end Kerry Hyder and longsnapper Don Muhlbach.

Hyder led the Lions with 8.0 sacks in 2016. Last year, he suffered an Achilles injury in Detroit’s opening preseason game. His presence along the defensive line was important to pair with defensive end Ezekiel Ansah, giving the Lions a solid pass rushing duo for new defensive-minded head coach Matt Patricia to build upon.
