The Detroit Lions will be without their biggest free-agent addition of the offseason when they open training camp on Friday.
The Lions placed linebacker Devon Kennard on the non-football injury list, one of a handful of moves they made with the season about to officially get under way.
The Lions also placed defensive end Cornelius Washington on NFI, and signed defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois and linebacker Darnell Sankey.
To make room for Francois and Sankey, the Lions waived undrafted free agents Al-Rasheed Benton and Beau Nunn.
