Free Press sports writer Carlos Monarrez answers three questions after the Detroit Lions lost to the Colts, 41-21, on Sunday at Ford Field:
How bad was this loss?
Clearly, the 41-21 loss to the Colts was their worst loss of the season when you consider the opponent and the performance. This is a mediocre Colts team, even if they’re now 5-2. They have an elite defense, but on offense and special teams they’re nothing special and somewhat suspect. Philip Rivers definitely played a great game, getting rid of the ball quickly and judiciously, throwing deep when he had to and soft touch passes at other times.
