The Lions came close but still lost. Encouraging sign?
Yes. Credit the Lions for showing some life and making a game of it. But the sad, ugly truth is they’re about to start 0-5 and no amount of attaboys and pats on the back and participation trophies is going to change that. They host the New England Patriots on Sunday night, go to Dallas and then host the Green Bay Packers.
